We test water filters using a bespoke performance analysis that helps us to get a comprehensive understanding of their abilities across the board.\u00a0

For our Best Water Filters guide, we selected the filters that received the highest overall performance scores, demonstrating their superiority over the other filters tested by us.

Within our testing, we assess filters for their contaminant reduction abilities, design quality, filtration speed, setup and maintenance requirements, and company offerings (such as warranty and guarantee). We also considered their upfront price and factors that only applied to specific systems, such as efficiency ratio for reverse osmosis systems.

We use objective and quantifiable data wherever possible in our testing process. But for some testing categories, it\u2019s only feasible for us to conduct our own subjective assessment, which is supported by data where possible.
